Church paid N100m ransom for our release- Kidnapped Prelate

The Prelate of the Methodist Church Nigeria, His Eminence, Samuel Kanu, who was kidnapped on Sunday, has been released.

The prelate was kidnapped along Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway, in Umunneochi Local Government Area of Abia State.

He was kidnapped alongside Dennis Mark, the Methodist Bishop of Owerri and the Prelate’s Chaplain, by yet-to-be-identified gunmen.

He, however, revealed that N100,000 ransom was paid before his release.

Addressing journalists shortly after a thanksgiving welcome ceremony by his church, the Prelate announced that his release was secured by members of the church across Nigeria and not government or security agencies.
