FUTA 400L Student needs N14.5m for kidney transplant

A 400 level student in the Department of Physics Electronics at the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), AbdulMojeed Adegoke has a chance of survival, only if he could get 14.5 million naira in donation.

AbdulMojeed, had been been diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) and would need a kidney transplant.

The Student is currently being managed at the Afe Babalola University, Ado Ekiti (ABUAD) Multi System Hospital.

A letter obtained by Precision Online Newspaper written by the physician managing him at ABUAD, Dr S. O. Oguntola which was addressed to the FUTA Muslim Community Chairman, Prof. Ishaq Amoo, urged well meaning Nigerians to render assistance to the young undergraduate.

Also, a flier shared on the social media by the Muslim Students Society (MSS) of FUTA to solicit fund for AbdulMojeed, indicated that he was preparing to write his examinations in August, 2021, when the unfortunate incident happened.

“AbdulMojeed is an undergraduate student of FUTA who has been diagnosed of Glomerulonephritis (a chronic kidney disease), he needs a new kidney and need a sum of 14.5 million naira to undergo the kidney transplant.

“He has been placed on weekly dialysis for a while, and that has been causing him pain and a lot of cost from his end. He needs to have the kidney transplant to relieve his of this distress once and for all.
